To preface our presentation, you may want to stop the video and take notes. Some of Bhavna’s presentation passes by quickly and not enough time is allowed to take notes. Her written recipe, for example, passes by the camera quickly allowing only a glimpse of the ingredients. Hence, you will probably want to stop the video long enough to take a few notes.

Aside from than that, we are pleased and most grateful to Bhavna for sharing her wonderful veggie burger recipe with us.

Here are some wonder ideas demonstrated, how to best prepare the harvested food from your healthy hydroponic garden. Even children who are finicky eaters will love these delicious burgers.

And, one last thought—in the video, you will see dairy cheese being placed on the veggie burger. If you prefer not to eat dairy cheese, simple replace it with vegetarian cheese.

days. What if you could spend about $150 for food one time and then eat as much and as often as you want —- for the rest of your life— FREE?

Interested?

Good. Here we will explain how you can eat super healthy food for about the price of one grocery store shopping spree.

In our video, Pam will show us her unique green-thumb garden she is growing on their farm in upstate South Carolina. She and husband Paul have built an eye appeasing, very functional yet small, raised garden that grows more food than they can possibly eat. And they never have to buy food or more garden seeds.

As you watch the video, please keep in mind your garden doesn’t have to look exactly like Pam’s. You can build you raised garden any way you like. But Pam’s garden does offer some really great ideas.

And, best of all, Pam grows Organic Heirloom seeds, which can be harvested from the vegetables and planted year after year! She only bought vegetable seeds one time. From that first seed investment, the harvested seeds are free and those are planted every year.

So, if saving money and eating super healthy food appeals to you, let us watch Pam as she explains how to it right.

Here is our feature video

Excellent presentation, Pam! Thanks.

One thing Pam didn’t cover in the video is winter gardening.

Since vegetarians are in the habit of eating even in Winter, it is necessary to find a way to grow food even when there is snow on the ground.

One possible solution is a Vegetarian Greenhouse Garden.

raised organic garden

Raised Organic Garden--Organic Heirloom Seeds

Set up a Greenhouse Garden and start growing plants inside, the plants themselves generate heat. It is very common to discover the inside of a producing greenhouse is at least ten degrees warmer the temperature outdoors. But, if need be, a small heater or heat lamp can be placed inside a greenhouse to keep the plants warm.

Vegetable plants that get too cool will automatically stop germinating (growing). But once a little heat is applied, they begin growing again…all year long if they stay warm.

Of course, you will also want to plant the best type of seeds to insure the best and most plentiful harvest.

We recommend planing only 100% organic Heirloom vegetable seed. Heirloom seeds are healthy, natural, and totally chemical-free. Indeed, Heirloom seeds are the same seeds most governments are trying to outlaw. Why? Because they DO grow year after year.

Commercial GMO seeds are genetically engineered to die after the first year growth. Those seeds are not healthy to eat but they do provide the big agriculture companies with a steady income. Indeed, most of the “fresh” produce we buy in our local grocery stores are GMO produce. The seeds harvested from that produce simply won’t grow. You will have to buy new seeds every season.

And, since most governments have signed agreements and contracts with commercial GMO seed companies, the governments are working hard to pass laws that will outlaw Organic Heirloom seed.

We hop this presentation provided much needed help for your vegetarian gardening project.

Space Saving Hydroponic Gardening For Vegetarians

If you are a health-minded vegetarian who is looking for a perfect alternative to eating dangerous GMO toxins and poisonous chemical-soaked produce, hydroponic gardening is the ultimate solution.

And, with hydroponic gardening, growing an abundance

organic parsley potted

organic parsley -- potted-- food spice and excellent herbal medicine

of vegetarian cuisines can be accomplished without having to buy acres of land and expensive tractor equipment for cultivation. Indeed, it can easily be done in the smallest of spaces with minimal equipment and skill.

In this issue’s feature presentation video we will see the creation of a vertical hydroponic garden which is perfect for handy-man vegetarians. Certainly there are as many ways to build and grow a vertical hydroponic garden as there are elbows in the world, but not all of them are custom built to fit inside a Winter Green House.

You are about to be introduced to the perfect hydroponic gardening system that can grow more delicious, healthy food year round than you could could possibly eat in your own greenhouse—or outside if you prefer.

The object of this particular garden presentation is so you can see how to set up and grow your healthy vegetable garden–a garden that produces only the healthiest food year round, even in the dead of winter.

And, the best time to set up your winter garden is now while the weather is warm and comfortable. Hydroponic gardening offers perhaps the best money saving food supply you can get without sacrificing valuable space or many hours of your labor.

In the following video, Mark, (verticalearthgardens.com)points out the wood he used to build his vertical garden stand. While Mark suggest using red wood or cedar for the stand construction, fact is, it can also be build using any scrap lumber you may already have on hand. Or any you can find, for that matter.

Any combination of woods will work fine. He suggested cedar and redwood mostly because of their aesthetic properties.

Building this particular hydroponic garden is best suited for those who posses basic hand tool skill–or for those who wish to learn how.

Here is the video
enjoy!

All the commonly used construction materials needed for building this great, space saving hydroponic garden, can readily be purchased in nearly any lumber yard or hardware store for around $75-$100.

There is no special equipment to order or strange and expensive components to buy.

And, by planting Heirloom seeds in your garden, you can harvest the seeds and plant them year after year. In other words, using Heirloom Organic seeds you only need to buy seed one time. From then on, just harvest the seeds from your crops and keep planting them each year. Organic Heirloom seeds are hardy and durable. They will grow more food than you could possible eat in three life times!

And, if you are looking for the perfect Winter Green house, here is our recommendation.

Vegetarian Hydroponic Gardening For Beginners

If you are a do-it-yourself vegetarian gardener—a vegetarian who insists on eating only healthy vegetables and avoiding GMO poisoned produce, today’s feature presentation will be of great interest to you.

It was brought to our attention by one of our subscribers, many of our valued subscribers may not understand exactly what hydroponic gardening is or how to get started growing their own.

Today we have provided a step by step video explaining exactly how to go about setting up your own cost-saving hydroponic gardening system.

However, before we get started, there is one small detail you will want to know in advance…but is not mentioned until late in the video. You will need to purchase a cotton clothes line rope if you don’t already have one.

In the video, you will watch as two plastic tote containers are being filled with water. However, once full, the tote lids will no longer fit tightly on top of the totes. Filled with water the thin plastic totes tend to bulge out at the sides under the weight of the water, deforming the totes. The deformation does not allow the lids to fit well.

This is where the cotton rope comes in handy.

Just before filling the totes with water, girdle the totes with a length of rope and tie it off. The rope must fit snug around the totes so the weight of the water doesn’t bulge out the sides. The rope should reinforce the totes so the lids will fit tight.

Ok–that said….let us watch the video.

Enjoy!

It is fully understandable if you are a bit overwhelmed by all the information provided in the video. There are, after all, quite a few steps involved in building your own vegetarian hydroponic garden system. However, don’t be discouraged.

In that case, if you are in a hurry to get your hydroponic garden up and running quickly, or, don’t feel you are up to the task of building your own at this time, here is a suggestion you might want to consider:

How Vegetarians Grow An Organic Garden Hydroponically

Here’s Another Way to Use Hydroponics Organic Gardening Systems.

An alternate method one can do vegetarian organic gardening is with hydroponics growing systems!

Don’t know what hydroponics are?

This is where you grow plants without the use of soil. Instead you use water and nutrients. You control all aspects of your garden through this method. It is simple to combine organic principles in with hydroponics. And, it’s very healthy too!

AeroFlo 30 Site Aeroponics System
AeroFlo 30 Hydroponic systems include everything you will need to start to grow professional grade plants in a very short period of time Sets up in minutes!

You may have always thought hydroponic gardening could not be organic. This is simply not true!

Water of course is an organic component, and the fertilizer and any other nutrients can also be organically based.

Since you do hydroponic gardening in a greenhouse without soil, the need for pesticides is negligible to non-existent. Indeed, growing an Organic Vegetarian garden hydroponically indoors is not same as gardening in outdoor soil.

This particular method for nurturing plants without using soil, actually started back in the 1600s. But only recently it has it started becoming popular once again.

Vegetarian Hydroponic Garden

Vegetarian Hydroponic Garden--Grown indoors, will produce an abundance of fresh food year round!

Due to all different types of plastics we have today, setting up your own productive hydroponic food supply is fast, and, much easier than ever before.

The primary secret to success for this type of gardening is the nutrients used to feed the plants.

Along with oxygen and water your plants will need generous measures of potassium, nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, sulfur, and magnesium.

Likewise, they will also need considerably less quantities of boron, manganese, zinc, iron, and copper. Plants use minute amounts of chlorine and molybdenum, which they usually get through the water or minerals you are supplying them already.

To combine organic gardening with hydroponics is easy.

Hydroponics by nature is partially organic already with the using water in which to grow your plants.

Organic gardening is just the practice of using all-natural ingredients to nourish your plants and for insect control. So when doing Vegetarian hydroponic gardening just make sure that all your nutrients are naturally-based ingredients.

You need to also make sure that your plants have plenty of oxygen, along with nitrogen (which we have forgotten to mention) to be healthy. The planting solution needs to have the right pH level. Your plants will flourish with the right organic fertilizers used in the hydroponics.

Now there are times that growing mediums are also used in hydroponics.

These growing mediums help anchor the plants and also soak up the nutrients the plants need to flourish. Rockwool and Heydite, commonly found at nearly all plant nurseries and garden shops, are some of these mediums you might consider.

Even though these two mediums originate from rock, one might be better than the other for the kinds of plants you are wanting to grow.

Peat, vermiculite, coco-husk, straw, perlite, or other organic substances can also be used as growing mediums for your hydroponic garden system.

For organic fertilizers you can use a variety of animal manure (chicken, cow, sheep, chicken, or pig for examples), bat guano, seaweed, fish entrails and emulsion, blood, bones, urine, and other natural substances. These are all commonly used and readily available for purchase at nearly any plant nursery.

However, you do need to be aware that some of these

organic veggies-hydroponic

organic veggies love compost!

natural fertilizers could present health problems. The human health value in using animal by products is highly dependent on how health the animals were (are). Fertilizer from an animal suffering from vitamin deficiency or a disease does not make for a healthy vegetarian garden…hydroponic or soil grown.

One way to avoid using animal byproducts, is composting.

Composting your garden using onions skins, peals, cores, etc, from food along with other kitchen waste, is a great way to make your own fertilizer.

Making and using your own compost gives you total control over everything that goes into your fresh produce, so you know for certain health issues will not arise. After your waste materials compost correctly, the resulting compound is perfect for feeding your plants.

Indeed, controlling every aspect of your vegetarian hydroponic garden, your plants…and food supply… will flourish.

Vegetarian Hydroponic Gardening done correctly, your harvest quantities should far exceed the harvest of regular soil gardening.

And, it’s far healthier too!

Complete Vegetarian Garden You Can Grown Inside Your Apartment

Our Feature article today comes from one of our subscribers who goes by the name ThePocketPcMan.

ThePocketPcMan has indeed discovered a unique method vegetarians can use for growing delicious, healthy, vegetables year round

The unique part of his creation is that, even people living in the confined spaces of an apartment or small house can use this method too.

And, if done right, will cost less than the price of a movie ticket to set up and operate.

The only drawback we can see, this method does require the use of plastic bottles…lots of plastic bottle.

But check out the video and see if there idea you might be able to use for your own year round veggie garden.

Here is ThePocketPcMan and is unique space saving garden.

Video Titled: Urban Green Survival: Bottle Garden

One thing ThePocketPcMan didn’t mention is what are the best types of seeds to plant.

spice organic rosemary

organic rosemary spice---delicious spice and an excellent herbal medicine

You will want seeds that are sturdy and don’t mind being jostled a bit every time a door opens or closes. Also, you will want seeds that can be harvested from the ripen vegetables for use next year.

That means we need to steer clear of commercial seeds sold at places like Wal-Mart and farm and garden shops. Most of those seeds are genetically modified and will only grow one season. After that, if the seed are harvested and planted their modified genetics will cause them to die.

It’s a trick those big seed and agricultural businesses use to make people buy food seeds every year.

Planting genetically modified seeds (GMO) in your garden is not only super unhealthy to eat, but all your work and food-harvest anticipations will dissolve into disappointment if you try to use those seeds for next year’s garden.

Therefore, we recommend using only Organic Heirloom seeds.

Organic Heirloom seeds are very sturdy and can withstand a little jostling about from time to time. Best of all though, With Organic Heirloom seeds you only have to buy them once. After that, replant the seeds over and over….from now on.

Even your great grand kids will be able to plant your seeds and grow a beautiful, healthy vegetarian garden.

Ok…that’s all for for this time. Hope this presentation was enjoyable for you.

Space-Saving Vegetarian Hydroponics Gardening

Our feature story today is presented by one of our vegetarian subscribers and dear friends, Rick.

Rick recently became interested in growing his own hydroponics vegetable garden. However, lacking space for growing, Rick came up with an ingenues concept for creating his garden within the confined spaces of his backyard patio.

As you watch the following video, keep in mind this garden arrangement can be installed in an attic, basement, or, patio area and Rick as done. The space requirements for this project and minimal but the healthy food it can produce is astounding!

This is Rick’s first attempt at creating a space-saving hydroponics vegetable garden and we want to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to him for sharing his experience with all our subscribers.

Here is Rick’s video…Enjoy!

Titled: How to Build a Home Made Hydroponics System

Nice Job, Rick!

What Rick didn’t mention here is how much all the materials cost him. But we can come up with a very close estimation.

The small water pump, plastic guttering, end caps,

organic vegetables

Most Vegetables are easy to grow but Hydroponics is the most healthy

plastic film sheeting, lumber, small water tank, screws—should only run between $50 and $85 USD. The best part is, once everything is built, your garden should last nearly a life time. And, all the materials can be readily purchased at your local lumberyard or Hardware store.

And, since all the materials you will need are so common and available, you can even buy a few pieces here and there over time. No need to unnecessarily strain your budget by purchasing everything all at once.

Once your garden is constructed, you will also want to plant only the best, most healthy, vegetable seeds in your hydroponics vegetable garden. For the best food harvests, we recommend planting only Organic Heirloom seeds.

Organic Heirloom seeds, unlike commercial brands, are not genetically modified poisons nor are they pre-soaked in dangerous herbicides or pesticides. Organic Heirloom seeds are 100% natural which means you grow and produce only the most healthy and nutritious food in your space-saving hydroponics garden.

Ok…that’s all for now.

Please leave a comment below and share your great ideas with us.

Why Vegetarians Are Smarter Than Average Meat-Eaters

Vegetarians are very smart people. Not only because

vegetarian lifefestyle

Vegan---Kathy Abernathy says, "No worried....I grow my own healthy food"

they actually are doing their humane part to save animals from slaughter, but also because so many are now producing their own healthy food.

“Smart” because they stopped trusting and depending on government agencies and their co-conspirators within the global agricultural industry, to provide them with healthy, non-poisoned food products.

Our feature story today could be quite shocking and alarming, but not if you are among the thousands of smart vegetarians who have been following along with this blog on a regular basis.

We have been keeping all our subscribers updated.

And, it would seem too, all our past warnings and updates regarding our unhealthy, industrialized food supply is now coming to fruition.

Due to the artificially inflated, super high auto fuel prices, World food prices are also beginning to skyrocket proportionately. But our smart subscribers, those who have been following along with, us already knew what was afoot.

Those are indeed, the same smart vegetarians to whom I was referring…those who have been getting prepared for the inevitable world crisis a little at a time.

Indeed, coming very soon, the pending food shortage will adversely effect the whole world…but to a considerably lesser extent, for our fellow vegetarian family of dedicated subscribers.

Here is the story we all have been dreading…some more than others.

If you are a meat eater, perhaps it is time to smarten up? This news effects you especially.

Food inflation seen back on the table as prices rise

World food prices are likely to rise for a third

vegetarian food price chart

vegetarian food price chart---steady increase for past decade!

successive month in March, and could gain further beyond that, with expensive oil and chronically low stocks of some key grains putting food inflation firmly back on the economic agenda.

Food prices grabbed world policy makers’ attention after hitting record highs in February 2011 and stoking protests connected to the Arab Spring wave of civil unrest in some north Africa and middle eastern countries.

Prices later receded, but an upturn which began in January, initally seen as a pause in the overall downtrend, has persisted.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) will update its monthly Food Price Index on Thursday and the organisation says prices could rise more in the short and medium term as grain supply tightens and energy prices stay high.

“You can see prices in the near term rising even further,” FAO’s senior economist and grain analyst Abdolreza Abbassian told Reuters ahead of the index update.

High crude oil prices have fuelled the upward pressure on inflation since the start of this year. Consumer prices in the 17 nations sharing the euro were up 2.6 percent in March from a year ago, despite stumbling economy.

“The food price index has an extremely high correlation to oil prices and with oil prices up it’s going to be difficult for food prices not to follow suit,” said Nick Higgins, commodity analyst at Rabobank International.

Energy prices affect the production of fertilizers as well as costs related to food distribution and farm machinery use.

Story continues…

“We really saw the (food index) declines in Q4 2011 as being anomalous and related more to sell offs from the threats posed by the European macroeconomic situation rather than agricultural fundamentals,” he added.

The FAO index – which measures price changes for a basket of cereals, oilseeds, dairy products, meat and sugar – rose in February and January.

A U.S. government report last Friday with its lower than expected estimates of grain stocks and falls in soybean and wheat plantings, added to concerns about global grain supplies and fueled a rally in U.S. and European grain futures.

Corn and soybeans are set to be the major drivers on world grain markets until new crops are harvested with strong price swings prompted by weather changes in major producing countries, Abbassian said.

More price volatility could come if U.S. farmers decide to plant more soybeans lured by high prices, he added.

Global Industrial Farming

Global Industrial Farming--once thoroughly soaked with poisonous chemicals, the produce is ready to be sold at your local supermarket. Are you Sure Your Vegetables are Safe to Eat?

U.S. soybean futures rose about 7 percent in March and gained about 17 percent in the first quarter of this year spurred by concerns about tight supplies as drought hit South America and smaller U.S. plantings were expected.

On the physical markets, whose prices FAO uses to calculate its food index, the average monthly price of U.S. soybeans jumped to $519.43 a tonne in March from $487.31 a tonne in February, the FAO’s database showed.

But FAO’s Abbassian said prices could still fall in the second half of this year with new crops easing market tension and driving full-year average prices below record levels of 2011.

The FAO is also expected to update its world crops view on Thursday.

Now for the BIG question:
Who do you trust more, yourself or your government?

How to Profit From Your Vegetarian Garden

If you are a land owner who has been feeling the adverse effects of the sinking economy, this article is for you.

Whether you only have backyard, or own 1,000 plus acres of

From Your Winter Garden Green House

prime real estate, now you can turn it into a nice, profitable garden for very little money. And, if your property has a pond, all the better!

In the video below, you will see a fairly large, working hydroponics garden. This is the perfect small business for all vegetarians who love healthy food!

Indeed, in the video, the hydroponics “farm” we will see is considered a large farm but what you need to keep in mind, however, is that everything you see in the presentation can easily be re-sized and scaled to fit the size of your growing plot.

And, what is not mentioned in the video, is the types of seeds that are best to use for your hydroponics gardening.

We always recommend using only organic, Heirloom seeds. These are not the seed you might find at Wal-Mart or at a state-owned agriculture outlet.

Not only do Heirloom seeds Organic contain absolutely no GMO poisons, nor are they soaked in unhealthy herbicides like the garden seeds found at your local feed and farm store, but rather, Heirloom seeds grow only 100% organic, natural vegetables.

In other words, “Heirloom” is synonymous with “Healthy.”

And the new seeds harvested from Heirloom vegetables can be planted and re-planted year after year. That means no “Suicide seeds” ….seeds that have been genetically modified to only grow one year then they die off. No thank you Monsanto, keep your poison seeds. GMO seeds only make great automobile fuel but they are poison to people.

Simply put, you only need to buy Heirloom garden seeds one time in your entire life. That’s all.

After that, simply harvest and plant the seeds from your vegetables. You can grow a strong, healthy garden from now until your grand, great, great, grand children have their own batch of grand children.

And each time you plant, your Heirloom garden will produce only natural, healthy food and no worries about additives or GMO poisons….ever!

And, no more paying top dollar for your fresh produce….where ever it might have come from.

Now, let us watch the video.

And please don’t forget to leave your valuable comment below. We are always happy to hear what you have to say.

As you probably have noticed, all the hydroponics gardening equipment and materials seen in the video are very common and can readily be found at any lumberyard or hardware store. Hence, purchasing a lot of expensive and special equipment is not necessary nor recommended.

And, that also means you don’t have to buy everything at once.

Take your time and give your budget enough time to catch up after each purchase. If you plan it well, by next winter your garden will be full of fresh vegetables and fruits—exactly what people are looking for at their grocery stores. Only yours will be sweeter and much healthier, which makes them worth buying.

Happy Vegging!

Part 3: Garden Projects for Vegetarian Kids

In the garden, when children tire from picking off

Japanese Garden Beetle

Japanese Garden Beetle

Japanese Beetles or plucking weeds, perhaps you will what to try one of these fun projects:

* Take a close look at the soil
What is the soil made of? Who live there? Older children especially, enjoy learning how a soil test works.

Collect soil samples from different parts of the garden. Try growing the dame kind of plants in the different soil conditions.

* Study Seeds
Look at their size, how they are formed, and how they grow. Sprout seeds on a damp towel, or make a production out of it: Roll a piece of black construction paper and fit it inside a clear glass. Fill the center with a crumpled paper towel. Now, place several different seeds between the glass and the black paper. Pour in enough water to moisten the crumpled paper towel.

When the seed begin to germinate, flip the glass upside down an watch the roots find their way downward again. Plants are effected by gravity.

* Help a Child keep a garden journal
Clip pictures from a seed catalog and attach the seed packet to the journal page for easy reference.

Chart when the seed is started, note the weather conditions as it grows. Add the date when it begins bearing fruit.

* Make an edible necklace
by collecting a harvest of peas, beans and edible flowers. String a double piece of strong thread into a needle. Then sit with the child under a shade tree or a porch and and begin making jewelry.

Cornhusk dolls are a big hit.

Corckshuck dolls

The cornhusks can be either fresh or dried. (Soak dried cornhusks in warm water until they are soft, able to bend without cracking).

Put several husks together and fold them over in half. Tie a piece of yarn a few inches down from the fold to form a doll head. fold a few more husks lengthwise, then slip horizontally through the body to for the doll arms. Let the stick out on either side.

Next, tie at the wrists and cut the ends (hands) to even up the lengths.

To make a dress, slip a husk across each shoulder, cross the middle, and tie with yarn at the waist. Fluff out the lower part of the skirt. Glue corn silk for the hair and draw a face using an ink marker.

* Vegetable dyes.
This particular project need adult supervision, but the results are are satisfying and memorable.

For this project your will need several pots of boiling water. In separate pots, simmer beets, cabbage leaves, onion skins, or flowers such as tansy or marigold.

Strain the liquid and soak white yarn or fabric in the colored water. This is great for decorative artwork: dyes will not be colorfast.

*Theme Garden for the older kids.
Try a cutting garden of only pink flowers. Visit a nursery or a garden center and start a patch of several kinds of mints. Or, try a patchwork-quit design of salad greens.

Place stakes at 1′ intervals on all four sides of a 2′ wide garden bed. Run twine between the stakes to form a grid. Broadcast seeds, a different salad green in each grid plot.

Try this fun project with children. It is a very rewarding and unforgettable experience!

This ends our Vegetarian Children Gardening series.

We hope you enjoyed it.
